A cause of the Industrial Revolution was that most people adopted the ideas that the universe is uniform and mathematical, precise measurement was important, and practical mathematics helped the development of modern science. This was a change in human nature because the beliefs of the people shifted from superstitious beliefs to scientific beliefs which had evidences and reasoning.
The cause of teaching modern medicine was achieved when emphasis on practice increased in the 16th century. Earlier, medicine students didn't have a practice that could have helped them learn and see how they are supposed to do their job. The understanding of human nature changed after the emphasis and beginning of incorporating practices into the study, because the people understood that practice was important in everyday life and helped people improve.
